Hey there, D here!

Soooo.. life is too boring right now to blog about. My life is basically wake up at 4:30, commute to work, run, work 12 hours (!), eat, sleep. No time for much else. But, Rodrigo and I picked our wedding invitations last weekend!

The process was pretty overwhelming. They just hand you TONS of huge books to flip through until you find something you like. I really liked purple pocket invitations but they had to be put together by hand (veto from my step mom), so we ended up going with something more simple. Still like them… hope they turn out ok!

Really glad we’re making progress with wedding stuff. Michelle and I are going bridesmaid dress shopping tomorrow! Woohoo!

And, that’s about it. Today, I applied to 2 junior trader positions — yikes! Class starts on Tuesday, so don’t count on my life getting any more exciting :(.

Workouts for the past week:

Sunday – 6 miles in Hoboken

Monday – 3.4 treadmill

Tuesday – 3.4 treadmill

Wednesday – 3.4 treadmill

Thursday – 1.2 treadmill

Friday – 3.5 treadmill

Even though they’re all the same general distance, every run is different. Monday was a typical pyramid but every other day, I played around with speed. Fun fun!

Hope everyone has a GREAT holiday weekend. Muah!

Hola, Danielle here! So I’m just a tad behind (I still owe you MY recount of the 4 mile beach run and the 10 miler), but I thought I would do a quick post about this pathetic week of workouts in hopes that this will NEVER happen again!

After the 10 miler on Sunday, I was just exhausted. My right knee and left ankle were hurting and for the first time since I started running (over a year ago), my leg muscles were shot. I think my lack of sleep finally caught up to me and I needed a BREAK! So I took Monday off from working out… and Tuesday… and Wednesday… oh yea, and Thursday… That’s 4 days with not a single second of running, ellipticalling, or weights. Who am I?! I loved the extra sleep I got from not heading to the gym at the crack of dawn, but I felt like CRAP and knew I had to get my butt in the gym on Friday.

My legs were still in lazy mode, so I stuck to the elliptical. 45 mins on the lovely machine followed by 10 mins of abs — whew! Felt amazing! I woke up this morning with a sore throat and NO desire to run, but I knew it had to be done. So I bundled up (30 degrees out there!) and pounded out 5.5.

Total time: 50:40

Mile 1: 9:03

Mile 2: 9:49 (two long hills)

Mile 3: 8:35

Mile 4: 9:13

Mile 5: 9:41

Last .5: 4:19

Not my best run, but overall, it felt really good to run even though it was freezing. The knee and ankle held up until mile 5 when they started rebelling, but I expected that. They’re currently being punished with ice packs :). But the one thing I always love on my runs (and probably what hooked me in the first place) is the gorgeous view of NYC when I run the piers. Simply amazing.

I know I need to step up the training this coming week before my taper because it’s only TWO WEEKS UNTIL TOUGH MUDDER. Ahhhhh!

Hope you all have a great weekend. Look for another post from me today or tomorrow with race recaps!

This post wouldn’t be complete without a *little bit* of cheese… today is my 8 month with my bf. I’ve never been happier 😛

Danielle

Hey everyone, I guess it’s FINALLY time to introduce myself.
My twinnie has been loyally posting to the blog for a while now, but the original purpose of this blog was to be a TWIN blog about food (especially sweets!), music (beats), and fitness (running feet :-p). I haven’t been holding up my end, so here goes nothing!
That’s me! Although my REAL name is Danielle, I feel like my name should be MIA — Missing In Action! I share my time with so many things that I seem to always be missing… here are the things I’m juggling at the moment (I’ll try to keep it short!)…
1) Work! I don’t want to give away too much, but I work on the fixed income trade floor for a large financial firm as a financial analyst. I’ve been there for 2.5 years and love the people. I have a love/hate relationship with the actual work  I do haha. But, they help me out majorly with….
2) Grad school. I’m *trying* to survive getting my masters in Statistics (yup, I might be crazy) and my job is wonderful because they adjust my schedule AND pay for a majority of tuition :). It takes up a ridic amount of time so when my sister/roomies are going out and enjoying life, I’m constantly saying “sorry, homework”. MIA!
3) As if work and school aren’t enough, I HAVE to workout every day! I caught the fitness bug when I moved out of my parents’ house 2 years ago. I looooove running and feeling strong — it keeps me sane. Currently training for a 10-miler, the Tough Mudder, and a few half marathons. Please excuse the horrible picture of moi. Seriously.
4) The amazing Reggie/Rogo/Ricky/Rodrigo! The man of many nicknames (mostly because my cute gma couldn’t remember his name in the beginning) is my boyfriend of 7 months as of today (happy +7 to us!). I cannot say enough about him.. he’s incredible and he keeps me grounded when everything else in my life is insane. Luckily, I see him every day because we work together (shh!), but I also try to fit in a date night or two every week. I’ll try not to gush about him too much :-p.
5) And I try REALLY hard to spend as much time as I can hanging out with the TWINSTER! She’s my best friend and we have so much fun together. I’m so glad that we finally live in the same apartment (as of October). She’s awesome. Enough said.

Of course, I also spend a lot of time catching up with family and friends. Oh, and going to concerts! Sounds like enough? Don’t worry, I’ll try to fit blogging in there somewhere. I’m not a writer or photographer like all of the amazing health bloggers out there, but I’ll do my best to track my training, fitness goals, and fun! If nothing else, I’ll have something to look back on years from now :).
Parents are on their way to our apt so I gotta run! Will post soon (or two weeks from now) — I promise!
